Are Hebe products NZ made?

The Hebe workshop is in Opua in sunny Northland.  This is where all Hebe furniture is designed, made and shipped from.

Where have many of your products gone?

Hebe unfortunately have had to scale back the catalogue due to a few factors including the rising costs or materials and freight.  We will continue to make a smaller selection of our best sellers.    

What is the warranty for Hebe products?

Hebe products have a 6 month warranty from date of purchase for any manufacturing faults.  Please note appendages and normal wear and tear are not covered in the warranty, this includes, plugs, clips, taps, hinges, catches etc.  Please be assured Hebe products are very robust and built with demanding environments in mind.

What if I want something that's not in your catalogue?

We will consider custom requests but will not be building products from previous catalogues.  Custom building is often not the cheapest option but definitely a great option if you want a piece to suit your environment perfectly.  Please get in touch This email address is being protected from spambots. Can you guarantee the colour of the wood for our specific order?

Trees make wonderful natural building products.  We are not able to control the shade and pattern on any of the plywood that is supplied to us, there will always be natural variation from batch to batch.  Part of the plywood manufacturing process means there are occasional marks, plugs and grooves in the material, we do our best to minimise these in our products where we can.  These variations are cosmetic only and do not change the quality or strength of the material.   

How long does it take once I place my order?

Small orders have a two to three week lead time to build.  For larger orders or custom builds this may take longer.  We can advise you when you order and will endeavour to get things to you as quick as we can.  Shipping time depends on location and workload of the freight company.

How do I order?

The best way is to email us or give us a ring, we are happy to advise on any questions you might have and will supply a quote, including shipping costs, for you to consider.  This email address is being protected from spambots. (09) 4025020.  If you are happy with the quote, please confirm by clicking "Accept Quote" or by emailing us with a confirmation.  Please ensure your delivery address is correct on the quote and that all options have been confirmed (table heights/ motif design etc).

How much are the delivery costs?

Please supply us with a delivery address and we will include packaging and freight costs on your quote.  Unfortunately freight costs across the network are on the rise and shipping furniture down from Northland can get quite pricey.  We always do our best to come up with the most economical option available.  Due to the instability of freight pricing, quoted shipping pricing will expire after one week and we will recalculate if required for current pricing.

Can you split quotes?

We can send quotes in any way that suits your needs.

How long does the quote last for?

Generally quotes are valid for 30 days, though please note shipping costs will be recalculated after one week or more due to instability of freight costs in the current climate.  We understand that budgets and grants can take a while so feel free to chat to us about keeping your quote live for a bit longer if needed.

When and how do I pay?

For commercial centres we will send an invoice once the order has been dispatched with payment due 14 days from date of invoice.  For private buyers the invoice will need to be paid prior to dispatch.  We will send an invoice with our bank details, please use the invoice number as a reference.  Unfortunately we do not have a retail shop so there is no card payment options. 

Can I come visit the workshop?

Sure!  We are happy to show you around if you ever find yourself in the Bay Of Islands.    

How do I look after my Hebe furniture?

Most Hebe products are finished with a tough wearing water based varnish.  To remove any stubborn marks, pen or paint etc, Isopropyl Alcohol is the best option.  Test a patch with a small amount, rubbing gently with a cotton rag.  A bit of Pledge is really good for keeping varnished products in good condition.  Varnished products need to be kept out of the rain and preferably not in full sunlight all day.  

Storage Boxes are oiled with a natural Haarlem Oil, you can also use boiled linseed to freshen up.  We recommend re-oiling periodically.  Water tub frames have no finishing and do not require any coatings as made of a hardwood suitable for outdoors.

Can my Hebe furniture be left outside?

Besides the Water Activity Tub, Hebe products are designed to be stored in a covered area or inside away from rain and harsh UV light.

Can I book you in to come visit my centre?

Where we can, we are happy to come and visit you.  We are based in Northland and make trips to Auckland and beyond reasonably frequently.
